Students applying for admission to the MIR program must satisfy both university and program requirements and also possess the following:

1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or expect to receive their bachelor's degree by July 2026.
2. A minimum required score on an English proficiency test (TU-GET, IELTS, or TOEFL).

Application Requirements

To complete your online application, please ensure that you submit the following:

1. Photographs

2. Official transcript issued by institutions of higher education.

3. Copy of passport (for non-Thai only)

4. Statement of purpose: This should be a 300-350-word essay explaining your motivation to study international relations and how you believe a master's degree will benefit you.

5. English-proficiency test scores (TU-GET, TOEFL, or IELTS). Score must be from a test taken within the last
twenty-four months. Minimum requirements would be one of the following
     - A score of 550 (PBT) or 79 (CBT) on TU-GET
     - A score of 550 (PBT), 550 (ITP) or 79 (iBT) on TOEFL
     - A score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

6. One Recommendation Letter: The recommender should be a member of your graduating faculty, work supervisor, or someone who can assess your academic potential for graduate studies. The letter can be submitted by your recommender via email to mir@tu.ac.th. Please download the recommendation form.

7. Bank Deposit/Transfer Reference: A non-refundable application fee of 500 Baht should be deposited or transferred to the MIR Program's account at TMB Thanachart Bank (ttb) account no. 155-2-00036-4 

To complete your online application, please ensure that you submit the following:

4. Statement of Purpose: This should be a well-crafted essay of 700-1,000 words, describing your motivations for applying to the MIR Program at Thammasat University. Please address your preparation for this field of study, academic and research interests, your future career plans, and any other aspects of your background and interests that may assist the admission committee in evaluating your aptitude and motivation for graduate study.

5. English Proficiency Test Scores (TU-GET, TOEFL, or IELTS): Scores must be from a test taken within the last twenty-four months. The minimum requirements include:
     - A score of 550 (PBT) or 79 (CBT) on TU-GET
     - A score of 550 (PBT), 550 (ITP), or 79 (iBT) on TOEFL
     - A score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

6. Two Recommendation Letters: These should come from a member of your graduating faculty, your work supervisor, or any individual capable of commenting on your academic potential for graduate studies. Your recommenders can submit their letters via email to mir@tu.ac.th. Please download the recommendation form.

MIR Admission Criteria

1. Qualified applicants are invited by the admission committee to participate in a written entrance examination held by the Faculty of Political Science in early March.

2. The entrance exam is a written assessment conducted in English. It comprises an essay section focusing on general knowledge of international relations and current international political issues.

3. Following successful completion of the written entrance exam, candidates will undergo an oral interview in early April.

1. Admission determinations are made by considering academic qualifications, transcripts, the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, English proficiency test scores, and relevant work experience. Please be aware that the admission committee reserves the right to request additional documents or assessments when selecting candidates for admission.

2. Qualified applicants are invited by the admission committee to participate in a written examination conducted by the Faculty of Political Science in early March. This written exam is structured as an essay test to evaluate candidates' analytical understanding of international relations.

3. Candidates will also be required to participate in an online interview in early April with the admission committee as part of the evaluation process.
