Outbound Student Exchange Program
Students of the Faculty can apply for exchange programs at foreign universities with which Thammasat University has established academic cooperation agreements. Students can choose to study abroad for a minimum of one semester or up to one full academic year. We offer a diverse selection of almost 20 partner universities across various countries, including Japan, France, Indonesia, Poland, Canada, South Korea, and more. Here are the program details:
Program Details
Applicants must be undergraduate students of the Faculty who are in their second year or beyond or postgraduate students who have completed at least one semester in their current program
Applicants must meet the academic standing, foreign language proficiency, and other specific qualifications required by the destination institution
December to March for Semester 1 and July to September for Semester 2
Applicants may fill in the form and upload all required documents online (Click)
- Statement of purpose (minimum 300 words and written in English)
- A study plan outlining the courses of interest that may align with Thammasat University’s curriculum (Click)
- An official transcript issued within 30 days of the application date
- An official certificate of student status (in English)
- A valid foreign language proficiency test result (may be submitted on the interview date at the latest)
- A concise personal resume (maximum two A4 pages)
- A copy of the personal information page of the applicant’s passport (must be valid for at least 6 months)
- A copy of the page of the household registration that shows the names of the applicant and parent
- A recommendation letter from the academic advisor (Click)

Inbound Student Exchange Program
Each year, around 40-50 students from our partner universities abroad take part in exchange programs at the Faculty. Most of these students hail from European universities, seeking to immerse themselves in the vibrant academic and cultural environment at Thammasat. Currently, there are two programs on the Tha Prachan Campus that inbound exchange student may enroll, namely the BIR Program and the MIR Program. Here are the details:

Exchange Student Internships
In addition to exchange programs for coursework, the Faculty of Political Science at Thammasat University also supports coordination for students from partner institutions abroad who wish to undertake internships in government agencies, private sector organizations, or international organizations located in Thailand. In recent years, the faculty has facilitated and supervised exchange students undertaking internships at organizations such as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the United Nations. Students from partner institutions abroad who are interested in internships in Thailand can submit their applications along with all required preliminary documents online for consideration by the desired internship organizations.
