Forgiveness in a course in miracles is basically correction of the mind. From the metaphysical aspect, you have a split mind. Either side with the split system is the ego (wrong mind). Lack of will be the Holy Spirit (right mind) which produces correction, also referred to as forgiveness. Within this split mind scenario, you'll still retain your selection maker - observer and this enables you to select from the split mind portions. You have never lost it. If you choose judgment, you are still choosing. Therefore, it's not at all hidden, however used. Why can you do this? During life, people have had an ample amount of the way their every day life is heading and feels the frustration in how this world operates. What exactly would they do? They start asking themselves questions and looking answers for the truth, for example, who they are and why they're here. The answer is simple: Forgiveness, often known as correction from the mind. That's your purpose in life and your purpose in here.

Over a deep unconscious level, this solution of forgiveness was put into your brain during the main separation from God. All people have to be able to pick from either sides. Your lifetime won't change and soon you change your internal Teacher on the Holy Spirit (right mind).

Question: How do I determine what the ego is within playing?

Answer: First, one must study what the ego is, be aware of it, then be capable of reminisce upon it without fear or guilt. The ego is a thought system based on some judgments whose very foundation is fear. This holds back to the main separation and is also seen as a hate, anger, blame, grievances, judgment, self-interest, specialness, depression, projections, war, death, sin, fear, guilt, and "forgiveness-to-destroy", simply to name some. Should you honestly browse around, you will see this world is founded on a kill or be killed thought system. That's the ego. It is usually one or other and don't both. Why you have difficulties in life, plus this world, is you opt to listen to the ego's judgments about everything and they are generally fear-based judgments.

A Course in Miracles teaches us that in line with the mind you choose between, you will note the corresponding effect. Split up into the judgments from the ego as your cause, your effect will be from that side. By choosing the Holy Spirit (right mind) as the cause, the side effects from the ego are undone along with the true effect is received: Correction (forgiveness). By switching your internal Teacher as cause, you will note some other effect to the result. It merely requires somewhat willingness to master how to do that and after that following up by performing it of selecting to change over judgments for correction (forgiveness) through the Holy Spirit (right mind). Make no mistake: This can be death towards the ego!

Conclusion: The ego is really a vindictive and vicious thought system that aims to hold you stuck these days by increasing your separation from all others using judgment. You cannot see Heaven from judgment. Should you pay attention to the judgments of the ego, your health is an expression of those judgments; however, should you listen together with the Holy Spirit (right mind) and judge forgiveness by turning over those judgments, all the consequences from the ego (wrong mind) options undone. You need to do this by prepared to completely surrender the ego on that subject matter and choose one other way. Transform over! It all comes down to a choice of the inner Teacher. You can not be described as a slave or two masters.
