A course in miracles is a list of self-study materials created by the muse for Inner Peace. The book's content articles are metaphysical, and explains forgiveness as used on way of life. Curiously, nowhere will the book provide an author (and it's also so listed lacking any author's name by the U.S. Library of Congress). However, the text was compiled by Helen Schucman (deceased) and William Thetford; Schucman has related that the book's material is based on communications to her from an "inner voice" she claimed was Jesus. The original version of the ebook was published in 1976, having a revised edition published in 1996. Section of the content is a teaching manual, as well as a student workbook. Since the first edition, the book who has sold several million copies, with translations into nearly two-dozen languages.

The book's origins may be traced back to the early 1970s; Helen Schucman first experiences using the "inner voice" resulted in her then supervisor, William Thetford, to get hold of Hugh Cayce at the Association for Research and Enlightenment. Consequently, introducing Kenneth Wapnick (later the book's editor) occurred. During the time of the introduction, Wapnick was clinical psychologist. After meeting, Schucman and Wapnik spent over a year editing and revising the pad. Another introduction, now of Schucman, Wapnik, and Thetford to Robert Skutch and Judith Skutch Whitson, from the Foundation for Inner Peace. The 1st printings in the book for distribution were in 1975. Since then, copyright litigation through the Foundation for Inner Peace, and Penguin Books, has generated that this content in the first edition is incorporated in the public domain.

Training in Miracles is often a teaching device; this course has 3 books, a 622-page text, a 478-page student workbook, and an 88-page teachers manual. The types of materials may be studied from the order chosen by readers. This article of an Course in Miracles addresses the theoretical and the practical, although putting on the book's materials are emphasized. The writing is usually theoretical, and is the groundwork for your workbook's lessons, which are practical applications. The workbook has 365 lessons, one per day's 4 seasons, though they do not have to be done at the pace of one lesson every day. Perhaps most like the workbooks which might be familiar for the average reader from previous experience, you are asked to work with the material as directed. However, inside a departure from the "normal", your reader isn't required to believe what is inside the workbook, or perhaps accept it. Neither the workbook nor the program in Miracles should complete the reader's learning; simply, the types of materials can be a start.

Training in Miracles distinguishes between knowledge and perception; the fact is unalterable and eternal, while perception may be the realm of time, change, and interpretation. The world of perception reinforces the dominant ideas within our minds, and keeps us apart from reality, and separate from God. Perception is restricted by the body's limitations inside the physical world, thus limiting awareness. Most of the experience of the planet reinforces the ego, as well as the individual's separation from God. But, by accepting the vision of Christ, along with the voice of the Holy Spirit, one learns forgiveness, both for oneself yet others.

Thus, A Course in Miracles helps people are able to God through undoing guilt, by both forgiving oneself yet others. So, healing occurs, and happiness and peace are found.
