Forgiveness in a course in miracles is really correction with the mind. Through the metaphysical aspect, you have a split mind. One side in the split system is the ego (wrong mind). How you get the problems in life, and in the world, is you choose to pay attention to the ego's judgments about everything plus they are fear-based judgments.

Training in Miracles teaches us that based on the however select from, you will observe the related effect. If you choose the judgments in the ego as your cause, your effect is going to be from that side. In case you pay attention to the judgments with the ego, your health is a mirrored image of these judgments; however, if you listen with all the Holy Spirit (right mind) and judge forgiveness by earning those judgments, every one of the consequences of the ego (wrong mind) options undone. You do this by ready to completely surrender the ego on that material and choose one other way. Turn it over! It all depends upon a choice of the inner Teacher. You can't be considered a slave or two masters.
