I adopted Sophie, a 3-year old 60-lb woman English Bulldog, four weeks ago. The difficulty is twofold--one, she pees in the house (and periodically poops, also), and two, as an incredibly powerful dog, she easily butts her way out of ANY crate, from airline-style to an all-metal crate (and I even wired the latches shut, and secured the crate to slider door handles!). The problem is twofold--one, she pees in the home (and sporadically poops, also), and two, being an very strong dog, she easily butts her way out of ANY crate, from airline-style to an all-metal crate (and I also sent the latches closed, and strapped the crate to slider door handles!). I have tried leaving her within an closed area, but she busts up everything in the room within an effort to make the journey to a window (not a door!). She does have an urinary tract illness, and is on her third week of antibiotics to cure it. She scarcely drinks any water. She's take-n out twice in the day, a friend takes her out in the middle of the time, and she goes out twice in the evening. She has a very sweet nature, and is certainly insecure about being left alone. Marilyn P.S. Forgot to mention--evenings, weekends, or anytime I, or a friend, or any person has been her, she is fine, and does not pee in the house. I would suggest performing a research on the internet. You'll find private organizations which make such crates out of metal/stainless steel. I'd call them o-n the telephone and see when they believe that their crates would stop him from hurting himself and keep your pet confined.
